The Group is committed to providing support to the Community and society through a number of charitable activities.

Our main charity partner is the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Southampton General Hospital - Friends of PICU. They are a local charity to our head offices and are the regional centre of excellence for the South of England. The charity sponsors the purpose built Children’s Unit currently with 10 beds but with our help Friends of PICU want to expand the Unit to 14 beds.

More than seven hundred children are admitted to the unit each year, many of them directly from the hospital’s Emergency Department or from other hospitals with complex serious illnesses, also following Major Surgery Children from newborn to 17 years are cared for on this specialist unit. This may be due to massive trauma following a road traffic accident or other serious illnesses or serious heart disease in tiny babies.

We work in partnership with Friends of PICU to support and organise charity events. Our staff fully support the charity and have run Marathons, fun runs and completed sky dives in order to raise funds.

Matchtech also sponsors a number of local sports teams and community projects such as The Wildlife Trust. We are a corporate member of the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and organise regular volunteering days where members of staff take part in practical conservation work to help manage sites for the benefit of wildlife and the local community.

The Group is also mindful of its impact on the environment. We have reduced our carbon footprint by limiting the emission levels of company vehicles, and we actively recycle waste paper and other items. We encourage and review new initiatives through an 'ideas' forum and through regular staff surveys.
